Community Project
One bespoke website, free, every year
Once a year I donate a fully bespoke website to a UK charity or community group that needs it. Design, build, useful integrations, and 12 months hosting included.

12 months of managed hosting and SSL from launch, so your site stays secure and online.

Integrations
Built in, not bolted on
Where it helps your cause, I connect the tools you already use or recommend sensible options. You keep your own accounts for donation and booking platforms.
Online donations
Take donations on your site with Stripe, JustGiving, Enthuse, or similar. I set up the connection. You keep your own account and pay any platform fees.
Events and tickets
Promote events and link to booking or ticket tools your group already uses, so visitors can sign up without hunting around.
Volunteer and member sign-ups
Forms for volunteers, members, or mailing lists, connected properly so enquiries land where your team expects them.
What's not included
Honest limits
To set clear expectations from the start.
- Ongoing Care Plan after year one
- Donation platform fees and other third-party subscriptions (you keep your own accounts)
- Unlimited content writing
- Enterprise-scale builds beyond a standard charity website

Terms and conditions
Last updated: 25 June 2025
1. Nature of the offer
The Community Project is a discretionary, free offering provided by Ben Goodman. It is not a contract or guarantee of service until a written agreement is signed with the selected recipient. No payment is required or accepted for this offering.
2. Eligibility
Applications are open to UK-based registered charities (including exempt charities where applicable), Community Interest Companies (CICs), and genuine community groups such as clubs, local causes, and voluntary organisations. Commercial businesses and for-profit entities are not eligible.
3. Scope
The selected project will be a bespoke website at a reasonable scope, typically comparable to a Foundation-level build or slightly above. This may include integrations such as online giving, event booking, and sign-up forms where agreed in writing. Exact scope will be agreed in writing before work begins. Work outside the agreed scope is excluded and may be quoted separately at standard rates if requested.
4. What is provided free
Design, development, launch, agreed integrations (such as donation services, event booking, and sign-up forms), and 12 months of managed hosting and SSL from the launch date. No design fees, build fees, or launch fees apply to the selected recipient. Third-party platform fees remain the recipient's responsibility.
5. Recipient responsibilities
The selected recipient must provide content and feedback within agreed timeframes, designate a single point of contact, and respond to requests promptly. Failure to do so may result in the project being paused or withdrawn without liability.
6. Selection
Applications are accepted year-round. One recipient is chosen per calendar year. Selection is based on need, potential impact, and project fit. The decision is at Ben Goodman's sole discretion and is final. Unsuccessful applicants may reapply in a future year. Applying does not create any obligation to select an applicant.
7. Intellectual property
Upon completion, the recipient owns the copyright to the final visual designs and code created specifically for their project, consistent with the general Terms of Service. Ben Goodman may showcase the work in portfolio, case studies, and marketing materials with the recipient's permission.
8. Hosting
12 months of managed hosting and SSL is included from the launch date. After this period, the recipient may continue on a paid Website Care Plan at standard rates, arrange their own hosting, or allow the site to lapse. There is no cash alternative to the hosting provision.
9. Timeline
Work is scheduled around existing commercial commitments. The start date and delivery timeline will be agreed with the selected recipient before work begins.
10. Limitation
This offer may be modified, paused, or withdrawn for any calendar year without prior notice. Ben Goodman accepts no liability for rejected applications or for any loss arising from the selection process.
11. Data
Personal data submitted in applications is handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
